Update #1 - Major bug fixes, improved gameplay


This is the first major update to Gnombies. Now that the games for the GDG Jam 2 game jam have been rated (we came second!), we are working on updating the game to make it generally more complete.

New features:

  • New ranged fireball attack (right click)
    • The new ranged fireball attack will damage enemies for half their health and set them on fire, dealing the rest of the health in damage over 5 seconds.

Visual updates:

  • Improved the UI
    • Added a new font.
    • Fixed problems with the survival timer.

Bug fixes:

  • Attacking no longer requires double clicks after restarting the level.
  • Infected gnomes AI vastly improved. 
    • No longer prioritise the player unless attacked (3 second agro timer).
    • No longer stop and do nothing.
    • Will correctly attack healthy gnomes.

Balance changes: 

After fixing the AI, the game is a lot harder - as it should be. To compensate we've made healthy gnomes a bit harder to infect and made infected gnomes a little slower.

  • Healthy gnome health increased from 10 to 15.
  • Infected gnome move speed decreased from 600 to 500.
